Mississauga Hospital – Site Updates

Metrolinx Construction

Accessing Mississauga Hospital’s Parking Garage

Beginning March 31, Metrolinx will begin construction on the Hazel McCallion LRT track at the Hurontario Street and Bronte College Court intersection. These changes will be disruptive for patients, families, and visitors, as travel times are expected to increase.

The map below highlights the impacts to and from the Mississauga Hospital parking garage from Bronte College Court. This work will occur in two phases over two months. ​​​​More details on Phase 2 will follow.​​

No left turns onto Hurontario St from Bronte College Court; No left turns onto Bronte College Court from Hurontario St; Detour to access Parking Garage via Bronte College Court is via North Service Rd (turn East from Hurontario), to Sherobee Rd. Follow Sherobee Rd to cross Hurontario going straight to Bronte College Rd.

Long description: Metrolinx Access Update – Phase 1 (April–May)

This map shows temporary traffic changes and construction impacts near Mississauga Hospital as part of the Metrolinx Access Update, Phase 1 (April–May).

Hurontario Street runs vertically through the centre of the map. Active Metrolinx construction is shown along this section using black-and-yellow striped markings. The work zone extends north and south past Bronte College Court.

An orange-hatched area appears west of Hurontario Street, next to the hospital, indicating a restricted or impacted area related to construction. The hospital building and its parking garage are shown on the west side of the map.

Turning restrictions during Phase 1:

  • No left turns from Bronte College Court onto Hurontario Street
  • No left turns from Hurontario Street onto Bronte College Court

These restrictions are shown at the intersection and repeated in a magnified inset on the right side of the map for emphasis.

A blue detour route directs drivers to access the hospital parking garage via Bronte College Court. Directional arrows indicate the detour path around the construction area.

Blue rectangular areas south and east of the construction zone indicate Team THP off-site parking.

Major roads shown for orientation include Queensway West, Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW), Sheridan Road, and North Service Road.

A legend explains symbols for restricted turns, detours, construction areas, and off-site parking. A note indicates that lanes will reopen as work advances and drivers should follow posted traffic signage.

Construction from January – July 2026:

From Bronte College Court, access to the parking garage only. No vehicle access to all hospital entrances. Pedestrians can access these entrances from the parking garage.

Across the hospital site, continue to drive slowly, follow the posted speed limit, and remain alert during this period of active construction.

Map - Construction at Mississauga Hospital

The following map represents construction from January – July 2026 and the impacts to vehicle access, as noted above.

Construction is underway on large area of Mississauga Hospital grounds, close to Queensway and Hurontario South-West corner. Parking garage is on the South end of the Hospital, and can be accessed via Bronte College Court or Queensway West. Please note: From Bronte College Court, access to the parking garage only. Another smaller surface parking lot is on the West side of the hospital.

Truck Waiting Area on Queensway West

The south shoulder of Queensway West is being extended to create a Truck Waiting Area. This provides a safe dedicated lane for construction vehicles to wait before entering the hospital site, not taking up any existing lanes on Queensway West while maintaining clear access for hospital and community traffic. All trucks are required to turn off their engines while waiting.

The following map outlines the primary and secondary routes that trucks will use when travelling to and from the hospital’s construction site. Routes are on major arterial roads with direct highway access, avoiding neighbourhood roads at all times.

Truck Access to Mississauga Hospital Construction Site: trucks will travel from: QEW Wast-bound to Erin Mills Parkway, Dundas St W, Mavis Rd to Queensway West; QEW West-bound to Cawthra Rd, Dundas St W, Mavis Rd to Queensway West; Highway 403 (East and West bound) to Mavis Rd to Queensway West; Truck enter Mississauga Hospital Construction site from Queensway West. Secondary truck access is from QEW (East and West bound) via Hurontario St to Dundas St W; Truck acces From costruction site: Truck leave via Bronte College Road, to Hurontario South-bound to QEW (East and West bound). Construction Vehicle Lay-by is located on the South shoulder of Queensway W, just East of Mavis Rd.

Parking at Mississauga Hospital

Mississauga Hospital’s 8-storey parking garage, which opened in November 2024, is located on Bronte College Court, and can be accessed from the hospital’s Bronte College Court, Queensway West, or Confederation Pkwy entrances. Due to construction and location of the garage, driving to the hospital will look different than before. Allow extra time to find a parking space.

Queensway Health Centre – Construction Updates

To help prepare us for a future where we have the capacity to shape a healthier tomorrow, preconstruction activities have been underway since the summer of 2021 to support the expansion at the future home of The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.

Patients, families and all those who work at THP will always be our top priority and we are committed to continuing to provide the highest quality of care while ensuring a positive patient, family and provider experience throughout these construction activities.

QHC Construction Map

QHC Construction Map: (NEW): Starting with February 27, the existing loading dock is closed, with a temporary one in place until the new patient tower is complete. All hospital traffic, including Shipping and Receiving, is directed through the south signalized intersection.; At Queensway Health Centre, new parking garage is now open on the south side, accessible from entrance across the Sherway Drive. Sherway Drive is the only Entrance and Exit point for all staff, patients and visitors. North entrance is for construction access only. Starting on March 18, 2024 construction will take place along the West Mall Road. Due to this, the following temporary closures and reductions will occur from March 18 – April 1, 2024: Temporary closure of the West Mall bus stop, and Temporary lane reduction on West Mall Road.
